Tungsten strengthens the frame to reduce torque for greater precision (Babolat claims 26% more precision compared to the previous Aeropro Drive). Babolat continues to utilize the Cortex vibration filter at the top of the handle. Cortex is used in several of Babolat's players racquets to enhance feel by cancelling only the 2 highest vibration frequencies. Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter.
Babolat has kept the specifications on the new Aeropro Drive GT virtually the same as the previous generation Aeropro Drive Cortex.
The Aeropro Drive GT will still appeal to a very wide array of players, especially for those looking for a slightly more flexible, spin-friendly alternative to the Pure Drive. One of a few racquets that works well at the net, as well as the baseline.

The Aeropro Drive GT is an acquired taste. The Aero line has a characteristic feel that some absolutely love, and some downright hate. My opinion of this frame is somewhere in the middle, however. The main reason being it doesn’t suit my game style that well. The racquet feels nice and solid, and I like that it’s not quite as stiff as the Pure Drive GT. The thick beam helps provide decent power and there is a fairly generous sweetspot. There is massive spin potential from this stick, although I tend to hit the ball quite flat, so this doesn’t really play to my personal strengths. I found the Aeropro Drive GT to be easily maneuverable and solid at net, and this one can definitely produce a great ball off the ground if in capable hands! I'd recommend to advanced juniors and those looking for more power and spin.
